Adrenals and Immune System Healed

Adrenals and Immune System Healed

Rebekah Pearce wanted to serve God, even go overseas to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. One thing held her back, however: her health. As she wrote recently:

I had been chronically sick for about a year and trying to figure out how to get well. Every month I got a sinus infection and was regularly taking antibiotics. Lab results showed I was lacking in some areas but not enough to be concerned.

I’d been living a life of constant busyness, eating whatever I wanted, and getting sinus infections monthly. That led to taking lots of antibiotics and developing severe fatigue. I reached the point where I could only work one hour a week. There were days that I wondered if I would have the strength to save myself if I were to encounter a life-threatening situation.

Once I found Steve’s Our Little Market and the tremendous foods I could purchase there, I began to get well. It didn’t happen overnight, and it took lots of self-control, patience, and faith, but I’m well beyond thankful for how great I feel and for how much energy I now have.

In hindsight I realized I had been deteriorating my body for years, specifically my gut, my immune system, and my adrenals. Our Little Market helped me to get on the road to healing by providing the foods and information I needed. Steve was always willing to answer my questions and share his insight through my healing journey. Plus going to the market every week gave me a chance to learn from other members who had additional knowledge in various areas of health.

A final story illustrates how far I’ve come. When I first joined the market, I was only working an hour per week, so committing to additional time as a volunteer (as is expected of members) felt overwhelming. Steve graciously allowed me to only show up once every six weeks and when I did, I would just sit at the produce scale for an hour or so.

My progress was evident, however, because by the following year I was volunteering to not only prepare delicious raw food dishes sold at the market, but I even helped to deep clean the kitchen on my hands and knees. What a miracle! I can still remember the day I literally cried for joy when I finally had the energy to prepare my own healthy foods and wash my own dishes.

The power of foods to heal should have been obvious to me. I had faith that God is our creator, that He created all foods, and that He’s a big fan of healing people. I just needed to know that He wanted to heal me, too.

Rebekah is now in New Zealand doing intensive training to serve overseas full-time in East Asia. If you’d like to follow her on Facebook, she’s listed under “Rebekah E Pearce”.
